Battle Royale

Battle Royale !

Japanese movie made in 2000.  Quentin Tarantino said it was his favorite film since he started making his own.

So, in a dystopic Japan, the Fascist Government passed a law called Battle Royale, where every year, a random class from a random school is sent on a island during a school trip.  But on the island, they have to kill each others until there is only one left, as in wrestling.  Problem, they wear a necklace that explodes if there isn't only one survivor after 3 days.

This movie is AWESOME.  Violent, great story, great scenes.  The actors aren't too bad, but they could have been better, except for Kitano.

Watch this movie, in Japanese with subtitles, it is worth it !

Oh, and forget about Battle Royale II, it is horrible.

    This movie was pretty scary back when I was in High school, now it's more like an action movie. I really do love that post-apocalyptic world though.
